Ebenezer Scrooge is resentful old curmudgeon which doesn't like anybody and wanders around all stooping with gloomy face. He hasn't any pleasure in his life except scrimping and saving money that he's not willing to spent for anything. He's becoming recluse and his life is as joyless as one could be. But then three ghosts come to visit him and reveal him past, present and future of his life. What will happen with him after this experience...?

"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!"

Charles Dickens is one of the most favorite authors of mine. His books contain the best ingredients given into the most beautiful words. I've read A Christmas Carol for the first time three years ago and I've re-read it every year since then. It became a tradition I am very fond of. It might sounds like a cliché but the story about Scrooge always reminds me what the Christmas is all about. I think that everyone needs it sometimes for it is human nature to be unfulfilled at times. It seems like Charles Dickens might be synonymous for Christmas. At least I believe so for I can't imagine it without reading his works that imply the very essence of love in all its forms. There is something about transformation of Scrooge's character that warms my heart and makes me shiver with feelings whenever I read about him. Charles Dickens is perfect observer of human personalities and that's what makes his books so unique and what makes him such a brilliant author. I love all of his books but A Christmas Carol has taken a special place within my heart and that shall not change...
