Advent Book Recommendation| HOPE

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well and that you're enjoying the First Advent Sunday. I was inspired by the advent to give you some book recommendation. This week is supposed to represent hope, and so I chose A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens as the first recommendation. Now, you probably think it's no recommendation at all, since everybody knows this book already. But you'd be surprised to find out that I have nobody in my life who has actually read it. And because it is my favourite Christmas book, I'd like to at least mention it on my blog. I am sure by now you all know about my annual tradition of re-reading it. Not only because I love the story, but because I do need to be reminded of the importance of not loosing hope and trying to be the best possible version of myself. If I am being honest, throughout the year I usually tend to turn into a Scrooge myself, and to read this book every Christmas is what helps me to change my perspective and focus on the things that really matter in life. It might sound cheesy, but this book is truly capable of shifting your views. Plus it's beautiful and heartwarming. So let's make time to read it together this year. After all, there's nothing that can spark the Christmas spirit more efficiently than Dickens...

"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!"

  2. I have not read 'a christmas carol', I actually have seen several movies of it and thought it was just okay. I think it's the length that had put me off from reading but now that I have read a few charles dickens books and liked them, I might try reading this one, too. I will keep it on my to-be-read list.

    have a lovely day.
