A Library of One's Own

I can't believe it's been a month and a half since I moved into my new library. When we were building it felt like the time was moving so slowly. But the time I spend reading, drawing or just relaxing in this room goes by extremely quickly. It's always like this, isn't it. When you're enjoying yourself the time just speeds up. I've already read/listened to 16 books in here and I am totally living for it. I've been also working on furnishing the room, which is still a wok in progress, but the space is slowly coming together. It'll probably be a couple of months before I show you the room as whole and make a bookshelf tour, but I still want to share with you some bits and pieces in this post. I hope you are having a wonderful time and I'll see you soon with another post...

  1. From what I see, it's gorgeous. I like how you have such colorful books - some of which I also owned though not as many as you have.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. Thank you so much, dear Lissa. I love decorating and have so much fun with it. I am so happy I can share it with you here. I also enjoy the colours of my books. I am very much a traditional person when it comes to interior design, but I like how the vibrant colours bestow a contemporary look to my bookshelves. They represent the time I live in... Take care and have a lovely day, too... :-)

  2. It's so beautiful! ♥ I always wanted to have a huge bookcase to the ceiling, but I'm short so I wouldn't be able to keep the books above :'D I love that blue-gold edition of classics, that seems fantastic.

    1. Thank you so much for you lovely comment. My library is definitely very high for me as well. It's actually 3 meters and I'm only 1,72. But I love the grandiose effect it has on you when you walk in. :-) Also, I have so many books that I really need to be efficient in storing them. So it only made sense to make the best of the high ceiling in this room... :-) Those Macmillan Collector's Library editions are also my favourites. They are so small and convinient to travel with or to bring home as a souvenir from your travels... :-)
