Dewey's Read-a-Thon (#3)

Hello dear readers,
I hope you all woke up to a beautiful sunny morning just as I did. After so many rainy days, today's weather is just splendid. I know that rainy days are for reading, but to tell the truth, I prefer nice and warm sunny days nonetheless. I love when I have enough light, for my eyes are practicaly blind. Plus it's really nice to have a chance to go outside for a walk and have a little break between reading. That's surely what I'm planning to do anyway...
It's half past nine, which means we still have four and half an hour before today's readathon starts, but I am already super excited about the books I picked. So I am going to make some work and last preparations to make myself comfortable before I start to read. I will be back to upgreade my reading status soon. And I wish a lot of fun to all of you who decided to participate in Dewey's 24 Hour Readthon as well. Good luck with your reading!

13:30 - Uff, so I cleaned up my room, washed my clothes, ate a lunch. And now I am sitting down with a cup of coffee in my hands. My books are at ready. But I still have half an hour before I'll start to read, so I am going to finish watching an epizode of Pretty Little Liars (my new obsession). I know I am a bit late to the party, but what can you do... At last I decided to start with Dear Nobody. And I absolutely can't wait to read it...

15:55 - As planned, at two o'clock I've started to read Dear Nobody and I fell in love with the main character almost immediately. He's just adorable and I really feel for him. I've gotten to page 60 so far and I have a feeling that it's going to be a hearbeaking story. But I still hope for happy ending...

20:00 - I've just finished my first book, Dear Nobody. And it was amazing. I am still processing all the feelings that the story made me feel. It was pretty intense. Sad and beautiful. This book is part of The Originals that are published by Penguin Books. It's a collection of pioneers books of YA genre. I've read a couple of them already. And I am definitely planning on reading more...

"You think you're the only one in the world it's happened to till you go down the pub and talk about it.
Makes you wonder. What's it all about? Love? I don't know what love is.
It's a con trick to keep the human race going, that's all it is."
(Berlie Doherty, Dear Nobody)

21:00 - So I had a nice break from reading and now I am ready to start my second book, War Horse. I am really looking forward to it, even though I have a feeling that it'll be a heartwrenching story, as well. My head is starting to ache, though, so I think I might go to bed early...

22:30 - I have read 50 pages and am already dead tired, so I am just going to have a shower and then go to bed. See you tomorrow...

6:30 - I had a nice long sleep and after my morning cup of coffee I am quite ready to start reading again. I can't wait to see what's going to happen with Joey and Albert...

9:30 - I've just finished War Horse. Oh, such a beautiful book. I couldn't help but cried a little bit during reading it. I am so glad I read it, but now I am really emotionally spent for another tough book. So I guess I will save Giovanni's Room for later, and during the last few hours of readathon, I'll read Attachments. But before I start, I am going to have some breakfast...

11:00 - I ate some scrabled eggs for breakfast and then talked with my parents for a while and forgot about time. But I am back now and ready to start a third book. I know I won't be able to finish it, but that's okay...

13:00 - I've read 60 pages so far and I am absolutely loving it. I really adore Rainbow Rowell. She's amazing. And I would say that I even prefer her adult novels to the YA ones...

14:00 - So the time's up. I can't believe that it's already over. I usually look forward to the readathon for many months and then it just flows by. Just like everything else, I guess. But I am really happy I joined in, for I read a couple of amazing books. Thank you all for your support. I alredy can't wait for the next readathon...

A přeji hodně štěstí s jejím dokončením. Věřím, že musí být skvělý pocit mít ji hotovou... :-) Taky se měj moc krásně a užij si neděli i zítřejší zasloužené volno. :-)

  2. Znie to úžasne :)! Už dlho som sa nezapojila do žiadneho read-a-thonu a tak si ma naozaj nalákala. Myslím, že by mi to dobre padlo, keďže som momentálne prešla "knižnou krízou" a navyše človek si aj skvele oddýchne.
    Naozaj krásny článok :)!
