Belle and Jim are the best friends from childhood. They got to share a foster home when they were ten years old. Belle always joked about them getting married one day. But when Jim's mother took him back just before Christmas, Belle stopped believing. After many years of separation, though, Jim finds his way back to his friend and, just as she predicted, proposes to her. They become foster parents too, and lead the happiest life, until some ghosts of Belle's past start to haunt her...

Every Time a Bell Rings is a beautifull story of friendship, love and family, inspired by one of my all-time favourite movies, It's a Wonderful Life. Isn't it everybody's favourite? I think so... Anyway, you don't have to know the movie, going into this book, but if you do, it's got these little easter eggs for you, which will make you smile every time you find one. The relationship of the two main characters was of that kind we all hope to acheive in real life. It was beautiful to read about, and even though I am becoming a little bit cynical about love, I believed in their love from start to finish.

But of course my most favourite thing about this book was Christmas. It was full of Christmas magic and the pages were briming up with Christmas movie and book references, as well as with lots of festive food and sweets. It warmed me up from the inside and made me both laugh and cry evenly. It's just perfect book to cuddle up with during the holidays to cheer you up after a rough day out shopping Christmas presents. It will remind you of the true spirit of Christmas...

Letos má přednost něco praktického a asi potřebnějšího. Navíc není místo v knihovnách. :D
