"Folklore"

I had only just stumbled out of bad at 7am today when our dear postwoman delivered the long awaited, much anticipated TS8. It made my whole day so beautiful and magical. I've been obviously listening to it every day since it came out a month ago, but I am immensely happy to hold the physical album in my hands now. My mom and I are absolutely obsessed with her music, and this album is in our eyes the absolute best. I love folk and indie music so I was over the moon excited to see Taylor delve into this genre. I could definitely see little hints in her previous work that were pointing to this direction, and I couldn't be happier she decided to go for it now. I feel like you can appreciate her beautiful voice so much more with this style of music. I always loved the acoustic versions of her pop songs better, because she could just shine without all the sound effects in the background, although the production in all of her songs is always excellent, of course. But yeah, the Folklore is definitely Taylor Swift at her absolute best (though I am sure she will exceed in her future albums yet again). When I first listened to it, I remember thinking that she would make an amazing author. Only her short prologues are always enough to touch me in the most profound ways, and her songs make me cry and feel all the emotions no matter how many times I've already listened to them. She mentioned in her recent documentary Miss Americana that she fears the day people would stop being supportive of her music because of her age. First of all, I don't think that's ever gonna happen. I would certainly listen to her music till the end of days. And second of all, I think that she could share her storytelling in many different ways. Can you imagine her writing a book? It would truly be a dream come true for me. I would read the hell out of it... She's extremely talented, and I believe she will always find a way to express her art somehow. I cannot wait to see what she will come ip with in the future. It's so exciting...
I cannot possibly rate all the songs on this album, for they are all perfect in their own right, but my absolute favourites are Cardigan*, Invisible String and The Lakes.

*The album actually came surrounded by paper stars as seen in the pictures, which are obviously to represent the lyrics in the Cardigan. I love her attention to the detail...

What's your favourite song from the album, if you are able to choose?
